My Story
Hi, I’m Amanda, the face behind Kennedy Consulting.
My mission is to work in partnership with clients on complex communication challenges, especially those that involve the community, people and the environment.
My passion for working with people and the environment was sparked almost 20 years ago on a natural resources and economic development work exchange in rural India. The direct connection between the community and the land they live on inspired me to follow a career focused on facilitating meaningful discussion around sustainability.
I started out working as a consultant, collaborating with clients in every province and territory in Canada on a variety of social and environmental projects. They included topics as diverse as talking to Canadians about the future of nuclear waste to facilitating strategic planning sessions in remote Aboriginal communities to leading a wave of integrated community sustainability plans in southern Ontario.
Most recently, I worked at Oakville Hydro as the Chief Conservation Officer, where I was responsible for the community’s energy conservation. I was also the Vice President of Communications, overseeing fourteen energy and infrastructure-related companies.
As a mom to two little kids, I decided to bring some balance to my life and go back to my consulting roots.
I work with a wonderful, supportive full-time analyst, Mollie Roskies. We often partner with experts for specific projects.
