After a highly engaging process, the City of Brampton recently endorsed an ambitious vision document - Brampton 2040 Vision.

Amanda Kennedy has been hired to facilitate a series of six roundtables. The interactive sessions are focused on bringing forward considerations for implementation.

Amanda helped the City to design series of meaningful and impactful workshops to identify challenges, narrow in on elements of success, and design a consensus-based approach to environmental outreach and activation.

Amanda has facilitated over a hundred such sessions.

Environmental Strategic Plan

Updating an EnvironmentaL STRATEGIC Plan

Kennedy Consulting led the process to update the Town of Oakville’s Environmental Strategic Plan and State of the Environment Report in partnership with ASM Analytics and Prime Strategy & Planning Inc.

The Environmental Strategic Plan builds on the success of previous town plans and incorporates new elements, including streamlined goals and the inclusion of three transformative priorities.

Mississauga Climate Change Action Plan

Planning for Climate Change

The City of Mississauga is developing a Climate Change Action Plan to proactively transition to a low carbon economy.

Amanda Kennedy is the facilitator and co-project manager. The engagement process has been developed, using human centred design, in partnership with Dillon Consulting and Dr. Peter Jones of OCAD University.

Other recent and ongoing projects include:

  • Community engagement support for the Halton Climate Collective, including facilitating community charrettes and designing pop-up focus groups in Burlington, Oakville, Halton Hills, and Milton, Ontario.

  • Facilitating the process to develop a guide to help individuals writing standards consider climate change adaptation. This work is in collaboration with Mantle314 and is for the Standards Council of Canada.

  • Facilitation and communications support for multiple municipal Environment Conservation and Demand Management Plans in Ontario, in collaboration with Stantec:

  • Facilitating a two-day Nordic Urban Lab for the Bramalea City Centre in Brampton, Ontario

  • Teaching a course on Writing Better Business Cases for the Ontario Public Service

  • Evaluating Greening Sacred Spaces Halton-Peel

  • Acting as the master of ceremonies for a climate change-themed Night Market with over 4,000 residents in Mississauga, Ontario

  • Process design and facilitation of a staff engagement process for the Canadian Red Cross in southern Ontario
